Fraser Lake Diagnostic and Treatment Centre
The Treatment Centre is operated by the Fraser Lake and District Health Society. This newly completed facility offers the services of three doctor’s offices, x-ray facilities, laboratory and public health nursing office.
Patients requiring standardized care are referred to the nearest hospital in Vanderhoof, 56 km east of Fraser Lake. For more serious conditions and acute care, patients are directed to the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George. Emergency service is available by air to Prince George.
Fraser Lake Community
The community of Fraser Lake is known as the White Swan Capital of the World for the hundreds of migrating trumpeter swans. With a superb view of the surrounding lakes and rivers from the top of Mouse Mountain, the area's most prominent landmark, you are sure to be enchanted with the Village of Fraser Lake. With over 170 lakes within a 50 mile radius, Fraser Lake is a playground of water and natural wonderland, where you can try your luck for trout or char in the Fraser and Francois Lakes, or the Nautley or Stellako River, world-famous for its flyfishing and spin casting. An abundance of big game, migratory birds and world class flyfishing, spin casting and canoeing, make Fraser Lake a fabulous outdoor recreation community.
Fraser Lake offers golfing, sport fishing, hiking, camping, boating and sightseeing. There is one elementary school and one combined elementary/secondary school. Fraser Lake is affiliated with schools in Fort Fraser, Fort St. James and Vanderhoof. Fraser Lake also has an adult learning center. The main industries in Fraser Lake are mining and forestry.
