The Valemount Community Health Centre is a full service health centre with 3 full-time doctors, support staff, lab technicians and nurses.
Located in the beautiful Robson Valley, Valemount is nestled between the Canadian Rockies, the Monashee Mountains and the Cariboo Mountains. Valemount is the home of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies and the origin of the Fraser River. The major industries include forestry, ranching, and tourism. Valemount is opening up a new nine million dollar resort and is being marketed as the next Whistler.
Valemount offers snowmobiling and heli-skiing in the winter months, and hiking, camping and trail riding in the summer.
Valemount is a rural community of approximately 1,065 residents on an area of 399 hectares or 4 square km. Valemount’s economy is based on logging and a rapidly growing tourism industry. The village of Valemount is served by ADSL and broadband wireless Internet access, 911 service, which includes the RCMP, a volunteer Fire Department and BC Ambulance Service. There is one elementary school and one senior secondary school in Valemount.
